    Utter disgust at ridiculous humans!
By the time this entry was typed, my anger had already subsided a little (maybe it would have been more effective if this was posted yesterday instead. LOL).

Yes, what angered and DISGUSTED me was this "Little Nyonya"(Xiao Niang Re) event that was held at Compass Point yesterday.

EVERYTHING, including the chaotic scene and overwhelming crowd were SIMPLY beyond my worst imagination. (Speaking of nightmares! Argh.)

Initially, all of us were a bit reluctant to go for the event, but HEY! It was one of my best buds, Si Ling's birthday, and we had planned on going there for an experience.

Not to mention that we reached there quite early (around 11am plus), and the event was supposed to commence at 3pm! Speaking of loyal fans, they were indeed there (and I even read from a blog that the first person had reached and waited since 9am in the morning!)
I am really appalled at the "loyalty" of certain fans... I wonder how do they have such seemingly unlimited patience?

Pei Wen and Si Ling started making their way to join the queue, and I was a bit shocked at first. I was telling them, "Huh?! Are we going to start getting in the queue now?!".
(Pardon me, as I have never been to this kinda event before. I hate super human CROWDS!)

But they'd told me we won't be able to get the opportunity to get into it when the crowd starts flowing in.

Fortunately for us, we brought our games to entertain us during the wait. The fans who were lined in the front even had their banners, posters and don't-know-what ready. (OMG)

Well, I know that there's a saying that goes "The early bird gets the worm.", but in our CASE, this is not true at all! When we got there, we were told that ONLY the first 100 lucky people will get the limited posters, and an opportunity to go onstage for autographs.

Right, spot-on. We had overheard from a security guard that our line was within the lucky 100. The three of us were pleased and held hopes that we will get the opportunity.

But little did we know that some crazy humans have the slightest cheek to cut queues, and deprived us from our "lucky 100". Can't they understand that for every single person who cut the queue in front, people at the back who had arrived earlier will be affected?!

And as expected, there was chaos when the posters were given out. People refused to cooperate, and kept wanting to have their way. They cannot even listen to BASIC instructions and make peace. A girl at the back was hopping and stretching her hands for the limited poster. =_=" It was such a hateful sight. Why should the poster be given to her when she arrived later than others? Those earlier ones did not even get the posters, and hers was out of the question!

However, to my bewilderment, I witnessed the lady (who was giving out the posters), HANDING her one of it. Yes, that irritating girl was jumping and squealing for joy. But her happiness did not last long. She got into a small quarrel with one of the staff in the end, and had to give back the posters to the rightful ones in front. Ha, serves her right! (Yeah, she still had the cheek to give sulky and annoyed faces!)

I strongly recommend the organisers to ISSUE queue numbers to those who arrive early, and inform those who are not within the limited queue. With the numbers, one will not be able to cheat his/her way through as I believe the queue numbers will do justice to those early birds.

This, at least, will prevent a less chaotic scene, and also ensure fairness to everyone. Can't they see how some senseless people cut to the chase and sneaked their way infront? Why do these people often get their way, and those who abide by rules are the one losing out in the end?

Not only that, if they were really intending to give out only 100 limited posters, why wait till there's a crowd? They should've given out one-by-one to those who arrive, on a "while stocks last" basis. It should be expectant that there will be a loss of control when there's a crowd, and people tend to make use of a chaotic scene to "have their way".

Sadly to say, it was still not over. More chaos occurred when the actresses and actors came into view. And that's when Singaporeans show their "true colors" and flaunt their KIASU-NESS.

Fancy that! All those pushing and squeezing... It kills! I am not exaggerating, but I was almost suffocating in the crowd. I wanted to get out, but I couldn't. I was blocked in all directions, and squeezed to a pulp. People around me were going HAYWIRE, and trying to reach out their hands, trying to take pictures of the cast. Selfish-ness appeared in each individual, not sparing a single thought for the elderly and young children who were trapped in the crowd, too. (SAFETY FIRST!)

Yes, and poor us, after waiting for sooo many hours, we lose out to those who came even later than us. I was so infuriated that I wanted to get out of the "human war" scene A.S.A.P, and I was so delighted to squeeze my way through when I saw the opportunity.

It was so horrific that I promised myself NOT to ever go for this kinda event again. It was a first BAD experience. Some humans are simply selfish, thoughtless and inconsiderate. They know its wrong to push and FORCE their way through, and yet they are doing it, JUST TO CATCH A GLIMPSE of the celebrities?

There was EVEN this scene I saw (right in front of me), when a girl managed to catch a glimpse of Jeanette Aw, and was exclaiming excitedly, "HEY! HEY! I SAW JEANETTE AW LEH!! HAHAHA HAHAHA! YAY!"

And started describing to her friend about what Jeanette was doing at that point of time. =_="

Like us, celebrities are only HUMANS who have the talent and opportunities to PERFORM on the screens. What's with all those squeals and screams and waving?! Do you think they will even notice your existence? I don't think they will appreciate all that, either!

    *shakes head in disgust*

I read in some blogs that Jeanette Aw almost lost her balance and fell into the crowd. Fortunately, her manager managed to pull her back in time, and prevented the unexpected horrors from happening. The stage tiles even cracked, and even escalators stopped operating. (I witnessed the escalators, too.) Yes, the Nyonya show was a blast, but the event they held was posing the crowd in danger! (An auntie even vomitted in front.)

Both Si Ling and Pei Wen were infuriated, too, and we promised with all our hearts that we won't be participating in this kind of event again, regardless of which mega-star coming to town. (Not even our idols!)
We are not those "fan girls", and I think admiring and watching our idols' shows/movies at our free will and time is enough.

I understand it had been a tough one for Si Ling, especially it was her birthday yesterday. She had complained that she had wasted 4 hours of her "birthday time" waiting.
(We did not expect the Nyonya event to turn out like that.)
We were given tokens of appreciation for our long wait, which is a notepad - (Peranakan museum)

Anyway, I would still like to wish Si Ling a Happy Birthday (despite the unhappiness caused yesterday.) We hope you like the present we gave you, and lets take it that yesterday was a day for gathering. (I indeed had fun chatting with the both of you. It has been a long time since I met up with Si Ling afterall! =D) And I will be looking forward to watching "The Hair" movie!

ON A HAPPIER NOTE, I met up with Satoru and those dedicated photographers after the chaotic Nyonya event, and I was so touched when Satoru gave me gifts, despite that Christmas was over.

The Breadou Donut! :D Yes! I tried placing this on a table and managed to trick some photographers into believing this was my DINNER. Wahaha. It looks and feels irrisistibly REAL! (Ahh, the softness.)

As this also acts as a "stress ball", Satoru had told me that he had given this to me in the hope that I can vent my frustration and stress on it if ever there's a need to. That's very sweet and thoughtful of him (as I am commonly stressed).

On top of that, he even gave me a Christmas card, with long-written text in it. (Of course I am not posting that up in my blog!) But there was something he drew in the card that had me going "OOH" and "AHH" over it.

Okie, I know its kinda blur, but I guess it shall have to do. Yes, its MR BEAN! So cute, right?! *starts shedding tears due to overwhelming happiness*

Thank you very much, Satoru, for making me feel so blessed. I feel great to have a friend like you, and sincerely appreciate everything you'd done for me. (There are too many to name! XD) Thank you for the presents, thank you for your patience, thank you for the friendship... and lastly, THANK YOU for everything! I'm sorry I hadn't gotten you anything as it was kinda unexpected.

And I thank-you too, for giving me yet another surprise before going back home... which was the "fossil stone" that you'd cracked with your mom.

Yes, there's crystals in it, and we'd hit the jackpot! I'm happy for you that we had chosen the right fossil. :D This goes to show that you will be blessed! I'm going to treasure everything as much as you will treasure them.
A "thank you" is never enough. :) I'm touched. Really.
