    3rd day of CNY... ...
I was still grumbling about the fact of having to go back to school - on the 3rd day of CNY. (Grrr..) How I wish everyone will have a one whole week of holiday to enjoy! =P (Okay, I know thats a bit too tad greedy of me.) But I couldn't help it that almost everyone I know is in the indulgence of "HOLIDAY ATOMPSPHERE"! (Including me!)

Anyway, just something randomly comical to share while I was having my extra GEMS module today in class.

As I bought my Mp4 to school today, I was in a total "KTV mood", and started singing non-stop. Worse still, my interest of singing became a bad habit.. AND I SANG IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LESSON WHEN THE SONG POPPED INTO MY MIND!

Yes, it was a total embarrassement. This was what happened:

Me: (**An old song whirled in my mind, playing over and over.. I couldn't help it..and..**)

"RU GUO MEEII YOUUU NI!!! RI ZI ZE ME GUO!!! " (Cha Cha Cha Cha Cha!)

*Sang with an exaggerated expression and posture without realising that the lecturer was actually probably looking and listening.*

The classmates beside me were already staring at me. Despite that, I ignoted and continued singing in my deamland.

Lecturer: (Probably couldn't stand it anymore) "Never mind, let Catherine sing, and I shall enjoy... ..."

I almost went bugged-eyed when I heard that. I immediately stopped and felt an overwhelming embarrassement. Sheesh! I din' remember I sing THAT loud!! That lecturer really does have SHARP ears!! GAAH.

I think singing can turn me into a crazy woman sometimes. But its really an uncontrollable urge!! HAHA. And that lecturer of mine's was smiling at me when the lesson ended. AHHH!

*runs away and hides in a hole*

    Photoshoot + Mosquito Bites
Firstly, before I start off this entry, I would like to wish Gareth aka Carrot a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Sorry that I am not able to meet you up for celebration as I had a pre photoshoot with a photographer and today happens to be reunion dinner day. Hopefully I will be able to make it up to you some day when we have time to meet up!
Anyway, I hope that you will have a nice birthday, and may all your wishes come true! Just don't forget me when you strike rich someday! =p Muwahaha.

    =====

Had a fun + rough day at NTU this morning while having a photoshoot with KP. He is really one skilled photographer whom owns a SUITCASE of camera equipment stuff.

We did a school -style shoot, and yes, I got bitten by famished mosquitoes who came attacking me for their reunion dinner. I am really praying hard that those are not poisonous mosquitoes so I won't get dengue fever or something. I bet my immune system will not be able to take it. Wish me luck, friends!

Anyway, here are 2 of the shots that KP had taken.

Some hopscotch fun. ;-) I was just pretending. Hahaha. Saw the chalk? It was actually mine's, stolen from my Primary school days. To think it will come to a good use today!

Anyway, some updates about my yesterday's shoot, too.. At Botanic Gardens.

    While waiting for the photographers, I cam-whored... ... =_=" I seldom cam-whore de, okay!

Just when I was in the midst of cam-whoring, I suddenly felt a droplet of liquid substance on my hand.
    YES, BIRD DROPPINGS! SHEESH!!!
    =_="

Anyway, got to go now to watch the CNY program on TV. Gong Xi Fa Cai to everyone! ;-)~

    I cut my fringe~~!
YES! I took the risk and let my beloved Ah Ding cut my fringe for me in the school toilet =_=" Those ladies who came in were soo curious as to what we were doing that one of them couldn't stop staring.

    *POST REMOVED*

NEVERTHELESS, thank you to Ven aka Ah Ding for helping me with the hair! ;)

    HAPPY CNY TO ALL!

Jack Neo's "Love Matters" Gala Premiere -
Yes! After a looong break, here's finally a loooong entry that I'd prepared to invest 1-2 hours of my time on.

(However, I'm gonna cry because I realised there's a problem with my camera, and MAJORITY of my photos were GONE, GONE, GONE! (I seldom use vulgarities, but this is just... DAMN it.) Fortunately, I managed to capture some quick shots with my handphone yesterday, which may be of help! ~_~)

And yep, its about yesterday's movie gala premiere - "Love Matters", in which the movie tickets were given by OMY.SG! (*Muacks*)

Erm... Apologies to this guy who was standing beside the Omy banner. Hoho. He had just finished setting up the banner when I took this picture impromptu.

As I was to bring another partner along, I got my mum! It has been ages since she last visited a cinema, and I hope she will get to enjoy the gala and movie as much as I do!

We got to Golden Village quite earlier than expected, and went to redeem the tickets from the OMY booth.

    *WOoOOhOoo*

We got these official "invitaton cards", too, that comes together with a pair of OMY cards as keepsakes. (Sincere apologies for the blurry picture!)

While awaiting for the VIPs that are involved in the movie to arrive, I took some snapshots of the glamarous red carpet that I imagined myself to be walking on. LOL. (Ya la, fat hope)

The red carpet thingy was soo grand and cool! (Pardon that I have not been to any event like this before, and I KNOW I am gushing over it! Haha.)

And there you are, the small stage in the middle! (Hui ge's expression on the posterboard is hilarious! LOL)

At about 8pm, the gala commenced, with the hosts (Marcus Chin and one 97.2 deejay) giving a brief introduction and casual talk about the movie.

It was a surprise that many artistes came, including the now-so-famous Jeanette Aw aka Ou Xuan.

(Yea yeah, she rebonded her hair, but still looking as glamarous as ever!)

And another mediacorp artiste, Liu Qian Yi.. (6100?)

And of course, not forgetting the man behind this movie! JACK NEO! (I really feel like smacking myself for not even knowing how to adjust the camera settings. DUH.)

Where the casts gathered onstage for photo-taking..

The red carpet thingy lasted about an hour, and many of us were looking forward to step our feets into the cinema hall to WATCH the movie! (YAY!)

We got the back seats, and my, was it a nice feeling to be staring at such gigantic screen!

The hosts and casts, including Jack Neo, came into the hall before the premiere! I felt that the whole thing is so special! Hui ge, as usual, was in his "mischevious" mode, and kept making the audience laugh. He kept telling us to enjoy the movie before they finally went off to watch it in another hall.

Well... Let me share some of my thoughts and views on this movie! ;-)

I've always liked Jack Neo's style of movies, and this does not disappoint me either. As expected, it is a humorous one, not forgetting some touching scenes as well. (Especially the part when Hui ge and the female lead had a huge quarrel and cried in the show..)

I seldom really laugh (even if its a funny scene) when watching movies, and surprisingly, I DID laugh a little while watching it. My mum did, too!

However, the movie was recently revised and categorised under NC16, and I could actually see the reason for it. Honestly, I can't help but think... ... that the main story revolves around... sex?
Yeah, basically showing the everyday lives of typical families, and the troubles they got into from sex and stuff. Nonetheless, it reflects on the current affairs, but with a huge jab of humour, especially with Hui ge as the main lead. He really does have a natural flair for comedy!

Yes, AND if you are a person who laughs easily, you will probably be laughing all the way from the beginning to the ending of the movie.

But of course, I owe it all to OMY.SG for giving my mum and I the probably "once in a lifetime" opportunity to experience such a grand event and the premiere tickets. For once, I felt myself so pre-occupied with entertainment. HAHA.

YES, and not forgetting... ... Do support the upcoming movie -LOVE MATTERS aka 幸福万岁 , which will be officially screened in theatres on 22/01/09!

Do click to enter the official site!

And once again, to show my support for OMY.sg, click to enter their site, too!

Yay, XIN FU WAN SUI, WAN SUI, WAN WAN SUI!! (LOL)

    Complaint letter
I lodged a complaint against a SBS bus service... about 3 months ago? (which means its dated back to last year!)

And just when I had clean forgotten about it, they finally replied back to me with an apology.
If you are wondering what I had complained about, its regarding the "LONG-wait-and-still-no sight-of-the-bus" situation which many passengers and myself had experienced.

I was super duper (note that) fed-up when I missed the last train home JUST because of the long wait of bus, which I suppose could be avoided should it arrive earlier-or quicker.
Fuming with rage, I wrote in to the company and complained about the unpleasant experience. (Pei Wen and I was stranded at the far end of Singapore without any train back that day - TILL the middle of the night!) Fancy that, I was about to burst into tears as I couldn't really afford to take the cab, especially with the extra surcharges.

If not for her brother's help in driving us back in his vehicle, I may have fainted on the streets from all the frustration and exhuastion. (Thanks!)

Well... That happened months ago.. So forget it. Its just something that would be remembered as a bad experience. At least the company did take the effort in responding and even bothering to send me a reasonable reason in regards to the situation.

Duh. Anyway, I think I had became a "Complain Queen" ever since then. Whenever something displeases me, the first word that pops into my mind will be "COMPLAIN"! And of course I don't complain unreasonably, lah. I will always provide the reasons of why I am displeased, and explain the situation in a polite manner.

So... Yes, I'm a "Complain Queen", but I am definitely not a regular at that! :P

P/S: Will be updating an entry about today's events..probably tomorrow. Do stay tuned for the updates.. with picturs provided!! ;-) *winks

    OMY GOD!

Whee! Received an email from Omy.sg about me winning a pair of tickets (with regards to my previous entry) to attend the gala premiere of "Love Matters" - the latest Jack Neo movie!
It's my first time attending a gala, thanks to OMY again!

I promised an entry and review dedicated to the outing, and I certainly will! =D~

Since the movie is considered the "New Year" genre, I had invited my mum along to watch it with me. (It has been a loooong time since she last watched a movie, and I hope she will have fun!)

Lalala... Everyone, do support OMY.SG! ;-)

    INTERVIEW -I was sooo close!
Arghz, I know some of my friends are anxious about the outcome of my interview today, and here is the answer:

    ...

    ...

    ...

I did not clinch the job.

BUT I was sooo CLOSE! During the meetup with the manager today at the museum, I showed him my portfolio, and told him a bit about my course.

He replied me in a tone of assurance, and told me that after seeing my work, IT SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM IN HIRING ME!
My heart skipped a beat as I thought I smelled success... but he told me that the only hindrance is the VACANCY as there are already six interns with them at the current moment.

The manager is a nice person! (At least he seems like one to me) Even though its only a short interview that lasted for about a few minutes, but I could tell that he is an easy-going person. (Not those "beat around the bush" type) I told him that I was expected to hand in the application to the lecturer today, and he tried to give me an answer by today! (Not a lot of companies do that.)

Unfortuntately though, I had been informed later that there was no vancancy for me during the time period I was assigned. I felt like banging my head against the wall. WHY DIDN'T I SEND IN MY RESUME EARLIER?!

But I am already contented that I was at least given a chance to attend the interview, and sincerely thank the manager for investing time in arranging it with me. Its the first time I was asked to go down for an interview from sending of resumes online. (A lot of companies just simply ignored me -.-)

Thank you... Even though I did not get it, I will cherish every opportunity that comes along.

    I'm contented. :)

    I'm a NINJA! Muwahahaha~
YAY, I'm involved in the latest upcoming movie - THE POWER OF NINJA.

*waves sword in front of YOUR face* WOOO HUAT!

    =_="

    Okay, I am joking.

Just went for another photoshoot this morning with BK and Satoru, with the theme "NINJA"!
The special thing is, this was a "DIY" concept -by BK the photographer, pieced together to form the overall image!

And I think I seriously look like a terrorist in this picture..Gosh. What do you think?

I was still telling BK about the reaction of MRT officers should I wear like this and went home.

And I am like, concentrating HARD. Well, not really. :)

Looks like some cosplay stuff uh? (But no worries, I'm no cosplayer.)

    ACT SHU NV! HAHAHA!

Believe it or not, this is one of my favorites. LOL. *bump* Happy.. err.. HALLOWEEN?!

    ATTACKER.

    Hello.

AND LOOK, LOOK! I'd got a VICTIM! (Acted by: Satoru a.k.a Edwin. LOL *claps*)

Once again, thanks to Satoru for the companion and being the male model. Greatly appreciate it! (Pssst, you did a great job! ^_^)

Ahh, I still got loads more in my portfolio... but due to some reasons, I am only giving the address out personally.

Anyway... I know some friends are concern about the internship thingy. Me, too! I have both GOOD and BAD news.

Good- My agent signed my internship form and seconded me to a company.
Bad- Just when I had submitted the form to my lecturer, I got another internship reply e-mail from Singapore Art Museum, asking me for an interview! Gosh.

    Why, oh why?!
I hope I get either one, but all the better if the Museum accepts my request (even though its pay will be much lower for sure). I think I need to gain more exposure and experience in other areas for the sake of my future career.

After much consideration... I think I'm going for the interview! Wish me luck!

    (*WOO HUAT AH!)

Happy Shrek Day to you, YANG SI YING!
    YES! The clock struck 12!

Thank you for coming if you've seen my "advertisement" in your tagboard.
And I'd been waiting long enough to post up this entry (supposingly to be an entry of "sabotage")
Yes... To my beloved SHREK aka Yang Si Ying,

And you cannot shrek me because I ripped this photo out from your facebook! =D AND I think I am such a good friend because I could have post up a lot of unglam photos (never shown before!), but I chose not to!

    Or...

Okay, I have changed my mind.

Maybe just one photo? Pretty please?

    Here it is:

Caption: This is my shrek taking a short nap in class. OH, FORGIVE ME, SHREK! I simply couldn't resist taking this photo because you look like a sweeet baby in lalelo dreamland. :)

But well, of course, why did I blog about her all of a sudden?

    There's only ONE reason.

    ITS HER 20th BIRTHDAY!!

20! 20! 20! YES! It marks a significance because she has stepped into the "2" digit world! (As if I am not stepping in sooner or later =_=")

And thus, ME, Catherine, BEING such a GOOD friend, prepared this virtual birthday cake..(Actually I ripped this off the internet) Specially for the ONE and ONLY SHREK.

HAHA... YES, HAPPY 20th (stress the word) BIRTHDAY to YOU, SHREK YANG!

The day is finally here... Wahaha.

Alright. *Ahem* On a serious note, I really hope that you will enjoy your birthday with your family and friends. Thanks for being such a great friend/shrek, who is always lending a helping hand to others.

If you don't know her yet, I can assure you that she is one of a kind-IN A GOOD WAY! She is wittingly FUNNY,in fact, HILARIOUS by nature, and always make people laugh unknowingly MORE than a person trying to pull a joke. (Get what I mean, eh?)

After some memory digging, here's a short summary:

I like how she ran fast with her "kik-kok-kik-kok" slippers, and almost slipped and glided on the floor when she came to an abrupt stop.

I like how she accidentally stepped on air and regained her balance when she landed.

I like how she always complain about her slippers being spoilt, and ended up buying a TWEETY BIRD slippers as a substitute when her original pair was torn on her way home.

I like how she sleeps in class like a baby. (refer to the above picture *smile*)

I like how she is always sparing a thought for others. (*thumbsup*)

I like how she is always pulling accidental stunts (such as HICCUPPING in class, and making everyone laugh when she suddenly let out a LOUD hiccup. =_=)

I like how she ever volunteered to come to my house and clean up my rubbish for me - FREE.

    See! She's so lovable..and cute!

SHREK! NO OFFENCE AH! You are just too cute. I LIKE!
And aiya, anyway, birthdays only come once a year.. Just let me have the opportunity to sabotage lah, hor? =D

    SHREK SAYS "YES!"
    OMG, I love you!!

And to all classmates, strangers, and friends, VISIT HER BLOG NOW AND WISH HER A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

    Slack!
Yay, today is the official OPEN HOUSE of all polytechnics. (Did I smell goodie bags? =x LOL)

Jokes aside, time is getting crucial as each second passes. We were given a day off tomorrow to rest at home, but I think I still have to get my butt back to school as I still have not submitted my internship application form YET.

Yeah, I almost clinched a job at a previous company I'd worked at, but the results are not favourable. (There's a strict supervisor there who may not sign the form for me as internships are probably not one of their policies.)

And here, I dread the day when I have to do free cleaning for my school if the form is not submitted by tomorrow. I wanted so much to call up my ex supervisor and urge her about it, but I do not want to put her in a difficult situation either, as she does not has the last call in the company.

The worse thing is, its not a joke about the cleaning of school afterall. I'd heard from my classmate that we may have to come back to school and clean up -FREE LABOUR.

What kind of arrangement is this? I thought the school has already hired enough workers?!
I think we may even be leading a life far worse than any other road sweeper out there.. Well, at least, they DO get a salary out of it, and we are not getting a single cent.

A few classmates of mine, even me, had already grumbled about it.. But what's the use?

Just yesterday, I was so fed up that I made an arrangement, which I guess is half-joke-half-serious:

Me - Clean up the toilet at T5 (I booked this block because its nearest to my classroom. Selfish me. :))

Classmate 1 -Clean up the toilet at T3A

Classmate 2 - Clean up the toilet near Foodcourt 1.

    And bla bla bla..

YAY! I can just imagine this scene when friends and relatives ask me this question in future:

Friends and relatives: HEY, Cat! Have you ever intern at any company before in your poly days?

Me: Oh, YES! I washed my school toilets! =D

    ... ... ...

SHEESH. Now I feel sympathy for myself. I feel irritated just by hearing the word "INTERNSHIP".
Well, who knows? I may just get the "BEST CLEANER AWARD" in time to come. I'm going to establish a company providing toilet cleaning services, and make my first $100K!

    ...
    ...
    ...

    Duh. =_="

    Phew~
Okay, I shall see how my fate lies on Monday.
My lecturer had told us that he would be bringing in a dustbin when checking our works. For those which he thinks is just pure rubbish, he will just thrash them into the bin.

Come on, must he resort to that? Worse come to worse, he can just simply feign ignorance and we can take back our stuff quietly. Even if there's a lack of effort, we still spent money on it afterall, right?

And yes, the money we invested in every project is not a small amount. (To me) My family background is different from many who are born with silver spoons in their mouths. I shan't elaborate further, but I just hope that I will not see my stuff in the dustbin on Monday. If I really do, you shall sense earthquake in Singapore. (*exaggerating*)

    Nonetheless... ... Unhappy stuff aside!
Here are some overdue photos from my previous group shoot, taken on 14th December 2008. Thanks to a local photography club called Westshooterz for giving me such a wonderful experience.

(P/S: I have received lots of comments that I look malay with the make-up on. Oh no. Even without makeup on, my dad had told me that I look like a malay too.)

Theme: Punk Rock (with an exaggerated makeup... but I like!) Credits as stated in the photos. :)

    Me and Adelene. =D~

I was requested to do an "arrogant" look. LOL.

Hariz and me.. I know.. He's tall!

Heard from C.T (MUA) that there is another plan for a studio shoot. *prays hard that it will be a successful one!*

5...4...3...2...1... YAY! HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!
Okay, I guess I am kina late in posting this entry! ( I want to make an entry on 1st Jan 2009!)

I had a memorable countdown yesterday, with Pitrra, Chin Seng and Pei Wen! (Thanks to Pitrra and Chin Seng for dropping by my house. It was a surprise! Haha)

And special thanks to my dear Pitrra for giving me bubble and chewing gums. (I miss them because I don't dare to "smuggle" them into SG anymore after making a joke out of myself at the custom immigration.)

Anyway, here are some of the pictures that we took yesterday.

Chin Seng helping us to purchase lolli ice-creams. =D

Look at the lightings! =D These are hardly seen at Boon Lay, except for large occasions, such as the countdown party!

And a picture of Pitrra and me... enjoying our SARSI-flavored Lolli ice-cream? (I think I seriously need a hair cut soon. I don't really admire myself with the "split fringe".)

And one of the guests, Joanne Peh a.k.a Bai Wei Xiu! OMG! I really did not know that she can sing SO well! She sang two songs, and she got teary-eyed when she sang the second one. Speaking of emotions. Ah.

And one of the hosts, Mark Lee.

(Sorry that I had to take their pictures from the big screen because I can't really see them from the crowd.)

Wee~ Last year's countdown (I mean 2008) was not a lonely one for me! Do come again in more years to come! Haha.
I will be sending both of you the videos and pictures via e-mail as uploading them onto my blog is time-constraining due to the large size.
And thanks Pei Wen for coming... Although we only met up for a short while, but I am glad you were able to see the fireworks in action. I'm sorry for not accompanying you for a longer time as I had to purchase something from the Pasar Malam before they closed.
Nonetheless, hope you enjoyed yourself! Thanks to everyone who sent me New Year greetings. I had actually sent out a lot of greetings too, but the SMS service was jammed up yesterday, and they got into my outbox instead. =_= (I only found that out in my outbox this morning.)
P/S: So much for the first day of 2009. Since my trip to Taiwan early this Feb, I have not been falling sick. AND I FELL SICK ON 01/01/09! Sore throat, flu... and stomach troubles. Goshh! AHH!
