More than it meets the eye.
Whenever I look at objects from the olden days, or listen to oldies, I will feel a weird clinging sensation. (Its as though bits and pieces of "something" is trying to show up in my brain, but failed to.)
Even a certain aroma/scent is able to jerk up that kind of feeling. Have you experienced it before?
That's why sometimes friends may not enjoy going on museum visits with me, as I will spend a long time observing a particular artifact. =\

Speaking of which, I planned on visiting the Asian Civilization Museum before 14/06/09! Some artifacts from the Forbidden City are there, including Emperor Kang Xi's handwritten poem!

    AAAAHHHH~

    Museums are great! =D~

P/S: I went to watch "Night at the Museum 2" today with Ben, and he finally allowed me to treat him! =) Thanks. It is really a SPLENDID movie, with fascinating visualization effects that will have you glued to the chairs! I love all the characters inside the movie, as they are mostly historical figures. Its amazing how those supposedly plastic/wax/non-living mannequins are able to turn alive when night time strikes. I would loveeee to visit museums like this! =D

There were a few comedic scenes which had most of the audiences laughing! Now, I am determined to borrow "Night at the Museum 1" from my school library.(Since he told me its nice!)

Next movie to watch: BLOOD- THE LAST VAMPIRE.

Why I want to watch it?
    BECAUSE ITS A VAMPIRE MOVIE!

    Glad
Met up with Ben this morning to get him to teach me some stuff for the lab test this coming week.
Thank you for your valuable time, and the textbooks you had lent me for studies.
I had told him that I wanted to treat him for a meal in return for his kindness, but little did I expect that it was the other way round instead. (Grrr...! He refused to let me pay!)

I feel so uncomfortable for oweing him so much! I will take my revenge soon! Wahaha~
Anyway, a big THANK YOU again for always troubling you with school stuff! I am such a noob in this area! =p~

And, and, I saw Jolin Tsai's autograph session held at Jurong Point today! I did not went ahead to join the crowd as I am not a fan of her. :P~

Okay, enough of blogging. I have got to mug for my quizzes and tests now!

P/S: Anyone wanna book karaoke appointments with me after my exams?! I want to sing till I siao!

    Kapibaras!
I am officially in love with... ...

    KAPIBARAS! (Or Capybaras)!!

You have probably seen them before somewhere, especially at arcades!

OMG, why in the world was I oblivious to such cute stuff?

I want them, I want them, I WANT THEM!

Its like totally adorable can?!?! Moreover, they come in different design(s), sizes and even colors!

Spotted a few selling on Ebay, but its so expensive! (But they are mostly found in arcade game machines, hence the price.)

Here's one out of the many I saw:

    Cartoon version!

I am swooning with all that overwhelming cuteness! My gosh!

And last but not least, a Halloween version! (Pumpkin as the buttock!) =P~

    To myself:
Catherine, I am going to buy you one if you pass your exams! :D

Wild Card Round- Choose me because... ...
Okay, here comes a SUPER aggressive post from Yours Truly in regards to OMY's Y Bloggist "Wild Card round".

    (Disclaimer: A "thick-skin" entry.)

    Here goes:

The ultimate reasons of why you should *TOTALLY* choose me:

    Yes! CHOOSE ME because... ...

-First of all, I'm a frequent blogger cum addict! (and a responsible one too!)

When I am bored, I... BLOG.
    When I am happy/angry/sad, I... BLOG.
When I have too much free time to spare, I... BLOG.
    And most importantly,
I always try my best to keep this blog updated despite my hectic schedule!

On top of that, I always try to keep my entries as entertaining as possible (Okay, although some may be exceptionally boring.) , providing an easy and fun read for everyone!

-As this is a blogging competition that caters to YOUNGSTERS like me, Me, Me, I TOTALLY am FIT enough to squeeze my butt back into the Top 5, can?!

-I know I am probably too thick-skinned for words *snorts*, but I think I ought to be given another chance to prove myself that I am THE ultimate Y!Bloggist you are seeking for!

-Since SOMEONE has to get into the "Wild Card round" eventually, I shall be that "SOMEONE" whom gladly fills this position!

And lastly, regardless of whether I win or not, I am still regarded as a "Y Bloggist" because... ... there is simply no denial that I indeed am.

    Spell Disaster
Sheesh, luck seems to be deteriorating whenever I get to drama class. As we were given the opportunity to pick any scenes randomly from the bits and pieces of papers, I got a scene which got me stumped.

Yeah, its not a difficult scene, but it has got a difficult ending. And worse of all, we have to come out with impromptu lines without any script(s) or proper preparations.
I blabbered some rubbish that didn't seem to make any sense at all (Ha-ha), and there was this line I came out with:

    (Note: Language: All HEAVY singlish)

Me: I tell you, my team sure win one. I bet $100!
    Partner: Then I bet $200.
    Me: Ok, then me $500!
Partner: (*probably sensing that this will come to no end*) Wah, your father so rich ah. What he do one ah?
Me: My father? He is the BOSS of SP (Singapore Poly) ah!

=_=" And I got laughed at.

But anyway, its fun to be acting in an argument scene, because I am just basically acting myself! Wahaha :D~

And horror of horrors! I think my singlish keeps "improving" everyday (which is a bad thing!). I actually think I can't speak proper english anymore. Yeah yeah, believe it or not... I can't actually understand ang moh english if they have "heavy" accents.

Get an ang moh to chat with me, and I will probably cause him/her to have a heart attack.

    Random post
OMG, the MST is just around the corner! *shrieks*

And yeah, that means little time for leisure, more time for studies. But I am sIo freakin' procrastinating, and I hate it!

Sometimes, I amaze myself. I can feel so frantic over exams, and yet I can still laze around like no one's business.
Yes, kick that procrastination habit, Catherine. You are going nowhere with that damn habit.

Anyway, just wanna share a song which I fell in love with recently. (You may have probably heard it before.)

Yeap yeaps! Its "Nobody" by Wondergirls!

One talented youtuber had actually translated the whole song into english and sang it wonderfully.

    Here:

Gaaah, the tune is just sooo catchy!!

    *nobody, nobody but you... woohoooo*

    Interesting mails
Just so you know, I LOVE reading interesting/creative e-mails! (But not spam mails, please!)
Gonna share some interesting ones here! :D

It's about a talented guy who can basically produce AMAZING ART USING SOLELY CAR DIRT?!?!
    Bold
    Its very OMG!

This impresses me the most. I was stunned when I first saw this picture.

    A very "Japanese feel" fan!

    Cool or not?!

(Isn't it a waste that all these breath-taking "art pieces" are drawn using nothing but car dirt? I mean, they aren't permanent after all!)

Check out the man behind all these fascinating works!

    http://www.dirtycarart.com/

Sometimes, humans do stuff that are just so out-of-the-world! I am amazed.

Anyway, here to blog a bit about my personal life:

There was an unexpected Maths quiz yesterday, and I was totally unprepared for it! Fortunately, the lecturer was kind enough to "close one eye" and let us do whatever we want! (That includes book referrals and asking friends, etc)
It was a close shave for me when my result showed me a borderline pass. Yes! I am already contented with that, especially after having my brain "collected dust" for 2 years.

But still, I have to go through a compulsory module - which is something ALMOST, if not, TOTALLY, similar to what I had been doing for the past 2 years.
Yes, that's Design for ya. You can imagine my face when I sat for the lessons, especially with the words "Design", "Design", "Design" constantly throwing into my face.

    "What is design?"
    "What makes a good design?"

    Bla bla...

Worse still, we still have to get into groups and do ethnography research on users' experiences, and then come out with 3 final ideas to present to the lecturer.

    Gahhh...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Human brains
    Random bla-bla posting:

Sometimes, I just don't get the idea of why YOU humans are born with the intelligence that I do not possess.
What is it in the humans' brains exactly?!

I have a strong urge to crack humans' brains now (especially intelligent ones) and take a peek inside to see what they are really made of.

It scares me when some people's brains can click within seconds, while rare ones (Yeah, like me) click only one month later.

9/10 teachers who are willing to take up the challenge in teaching me ended up having a near-heart attack. (And I am not kidding!)

Brain ah, brain. When can you really get down to work? Come on, start your engines! *vroom vroom*

I need a brain system upgrade. Just a Pentium of Centrino will do. :D I am currently using a Pentium II system, and its super laggy! Trust me, it always hangs!

I AM GOING TO SEND IT FOR SERVICING SOON! Just you wait, HUMANS!!!!!!!!!

    Wallpaper!
    My current wallpaper:
Designed it myself using some fantastic brushes I found online:

Yes, I fell in love with vintage stuff lately! :D I just loooveee the whole "feel" of it. Its gives me a weird but good feeling.

And here to blog about the outing with Wen and I last Sunday :D
Yeah, our very first Pepper Lunch. I had always heard and seen people talk about it, but had not personally tried it before.

We ordered the Unagi set at a promotional price using the coupons.
Well... although the food and everything is nice, but I can't help but complain that the portion of rice they provided was small! It was as if I could finish the rice within a few mouthfuls.
Not only that, they were stingy on the Unagi, too.
Its not true to the pictures at all! AHH!

In conclusion, its EXPENSIVE. (Judging on the small portion of rice.)

On a random note, found one self-camwhore picture from my phone, with Gera's wonderful makeup job! :D (The hair was styled by her, too) ;)

And I lovee this below pic of us together! Took it while we were broadcasting our "show" on blogtv.com. SHE LOOKED SO MOTHERLY IN THE PICTURE RIGHT?!! Haha.. I bet she will kill me if she hears this!! :o!

    Till then, see ya!

P/S: I will be getting free MIO TV soon! 15 unlimited movies per month. Can watch till siao ah!

    Just random thoughts: Ironical
Have you ever think that life can be ironic sometimes?

One such example would be living with the thing you dislike (or "used to dislike") and liking it eventually?
Or the things you dislike will come to you on a natural basis?

I think I experienced stuff like that on numerous occasions though. But well, life can indeed be unpredictable as you will never know what will be in store for you the next day.

I remembered when I was younger, I disliked being involved in plays and acting stuff. I was not very cooperative when it came to expressing myself publicly.
But little did I know that it became one of my main interests in later part of my life.

Similarly, I disliked engineering. All those electronic and digital stuff *trembles* scares me 24/7 . When I was recommended one of the engineering courses back during my O level days by a local institution, my first reaction was "No way. No way am I going to get into engineering!"

And again, little did I know that I will really get myself into an engineering course a few years later. (But it is still not my interest as I got in due to the limitations of courses available.)

Nevertheless, its something beyond what I called "unexpected".

(Now, I am worried that I will marry a husband whom I have absolute hatred for. =p)
I will just take extra caution of all the things I hate in the present as I will never know if it will become part of my life/main interest(s) in future.

    Yeah, welcome to a roller-coaster life! =D~

    Design
Everyone has to present the design of our products today, and I came up with something very common. =_=

I told the lecturer that it is basically just an action figure (=_=) OR a stress-relieve rubbery toy for you to pull and vent your anger on. Duh.
I knew I should have designed better stuff than this. -.-

Anyway, just to show something niceeeeeee! (I bought it at a sale last Saturday!)

ADORABLE right?! Haha, part of the reason I bought it was because my all-time favorite color is ORANGE.
And with additional cutie features on the face, I can't hold back the resistance any longer and bought it immediately. Anyway, it is really cheap after the discount! :D There's a green version of it too, and all were being snatched up. :o

On a random note (again), I took this *secret* picture from my drama class today:

Today's drama lesson was considered fun yet challenging. We have to come up with super mini skits every week, and we were to practice on the emotion of ANGER in today's lesson.
The lecturer certainly wasn't called OUR lecturer for nothing. I was taken aback by her demonstrations as she taught us tips on how to be physical during the acting process.

Guess what? When she taught us on how to throw objects on the ground to "vent our anger", she actually threw a huge desk on the ground and IT BROKE INTO 2 PIECES! Yes, a massive impact indeed.

I was impressed by the class as everyone acted so well. There were a lot of scary pushings, quarrels, bangings, falling down, etc.

As for me, I "slapped" a guy whom I partnered with (I was supposed to act as his girlfriend), and "pushed" him onto the ground till he banged onto the door. (But well, of course, I did not really hurt him!)

Anyway, we screwed up the slapping part as we did not really rehearse before getting onto the "stage". It became hilarious when our coordinations were all wrong.

I used my left hand to slap him, and his face was supposed to turn in the direction which I'd supposedly "slapped" him. But he turned to the right side when I "slapped" him on the left! Everyone saw that and laughed at the poor coordination. =_=

Nevertheless, its still a fun process! ;)

    Muwahaha

I am currently now inside my school library @ work. (Brrr.. Its freezing cold!)
My right arm is bleeding (but not so much now) after I accidentally banged it hard on the self-checking system machine just now. Speaking of unlucky, huh.

Anyway, was feeling quite delighted when a group of students approached me and one of them asked if I am sure I am a student of SP.
Confused, I nodded and they said I look like a secondary school student! (*Bwahaha) It has been quite some time since I last heard comments like this.

Gah, on a random note, this is my 2nd week of school and I can't really say I am surviving well. Doubting my ability, I asked one of my lecturers:

Me: What if I fail this (subject)? Do I need to repeat again?
Lecturer: *Eyes opening wide* Fail?! You still dare to say fail? No, you can't fail!
Me: ... ... *speechless* (I only asked "What if" ma... Lol)
Lecturer: Don't tell me later you say you don't like then want to quit again huh.
Me: No la,no la. I will finish the 3 years and get the diploma. *sheepish look*

But of course, I had already faced failure in another course and I know I cannot afford to have history repeat itself again. Honestly, my life isn't getting better except that I don't have to do some stuff which I have absolute hatred for in my ex-course.
    Well, that's enough.

Life seems to be back like the secondary school days, when I would spend my time doing Maths. (my close classmates in my secondary school will know what I mean. *winks*)
Except now that the Maths seems so difficult!

I admit I don't really fancy engineering in the past, but I have got to learn to accept it into my life.
AND AM I GLAD THAT THERE IS NO NEED FOR ME TO SPEND SO MUCH MONEY ON PROJECTS!

But in exchange for that, I have to mug for tests and exams. T_T Well, I guess there is no free lunch in this world after all. HAHA.

    Happy Mother's Day

Monsters vs Aliens! Gosh, their 3D movie is coming!

Anyway, Happy Mother's Day to all mothers!
Today was a Pizza Hut Delivery day for my family during this special occasion. =D~ Yummy~

Nevertheless, here to update something which pissed me off yesterday afternoon.
I met up with Z.H as I wanted him to teach me on Java programming, and we had a hard time searching for a power socket for our laptops.
As it was a public holiday (Vesak Day) yesterday, the library was not open. But imagine our excitement and glee when Z.H found a power socket just outside the closed library!

We managed to use it for hours until a tough and gruffy-looking malay security guard confronted me, and started shooting warnings such as misuse of government's property.
He even mentioned about the risk of me being charged, etc, etc.

    Like HELLO?!?!

What's the point of the power socket's existence when we can't even use it? Furthermore, its in public view.
And why aren't there any notices or signage indicating that we, the public, can't use it?

Even if it belongs to the government, we have the right to use it too! Imagine how much our parents contribute to the taxes, and now we can't even use just 10% of the electricity?

Both Z.H and I were so pissed that our names and institutions were taken down, and I greatly regretted writing down my names! I should have stood by my rights and shoot him off.

I think the security guard has nothing better to do or probably just mere jealous that he was not able to enjoy the day off just like everyone else.
So what if you are the security guard? What will our names earn you? Or do you earn by commission through writing down names? *laughs*
    One name= $5?

Its so ridiculous! Go and issue warning letter to my school or whatsoever then. I shan't be bothered because I don't think there's anything wrong with the usage of sockets, not unless THERE'S AN INDICATION.

It's your own fault for not notifying the public, and we are I-N-N-O-C-E-N-T!

    Study hard, play hard
I just read the newspaper today regarding a 20-year-old girl who suffered major hair loss due to stress.

I am so afraid that I will have that kind of condition soon! (Just thinking of all the things I have to study makes me shudder at the thought of hair loss. T_T)

I don't mind having a little stress, but please, oh my beloved HAIR, do not drop okay! *sends flying kisses to my hair*

I am going to put in an extra mile of effort for my studies now. My dad told me that I will become a bookworm.

    What to do?

You must be snickering and thinking I am crazy to give up a course that requires no tests, exams or books, and yet go for a course that contain all those stuff.

But there is a price to pay for such "no-exams privilege"!

No offense to those who are still studying in the design course, but I really think that sometimes being over-hardworking in it makes people a bit "insane". Having sleepless nights and almost everywhere you go + everything you do will link your thinking and senses to DESIGN.

And what's with all the observations? (Observing how people EAT, WALK, USING A CERTAIN PRODUCT, ETC) Its not as if I am saying there's something wrong with that, but doing all these stuff on a long-term basis will make people paranoid. (Okay, maybe its just me.)

    Ya, ya.

"What is the design-ness in the design that makes the design a design?"
"A design is to design a design to produce a design".
"WHAT IS THE PEN-NESS IN A PEN THAT MAKES A PEN A PEN?!"

Anyway, the only thing I will badly miss is all my friends and ex-classmates. Its not easy to come that far... ...

Catherine, you are back to square one again. Buck up or lose out.

    First day of school
So what is my "first day of school" like?

    EMBARRASSING.

No, I don't mean that kind of "embarrassing" you have in mind.

    This was what happened:

Seated quietly during Java class, the teacher came and squatted beside me, guiding me through some of the stuff I had missed.

    Then... Suddenly...

I felt a dust particle or WHATSOVER landed right at the bottom of my throat, providing super irritance.

Trying hard to resist from coughing (as the teacher was just beside me), I thought I could at least made it...

    And then...

I can't hold it any longer! The throat is super ITCHY AH!

    *Cough* *Cough* *Cough* *Cough* *Cough*

*Face turned a bright tomato red with tears welling up in eyes*

Teacher: *laugh and patted me on my back*

Wa lao! My first day and I choked on a dust particle in front of my new teacher?!

Ya la, ya la. Laugh all you want. I know its funny. =_=" (If I was watching myself, I bet I would laugh too.)

Nevertheless, the first day is considered tedious as I realized there are a lot of catching ups to do. I need to go and study all those calculations, Java language and logic gates.

And the Java teacher seems nice! She gave me a short personal briefing of the basics, and even got the class to clap as a welcome of me into their class. *blushes*

    And And AND...

I know nuts about the course, and one of the teachers already said she is now in the midst of setting the test papers for us! Gosh.

What's more surprising is the timetable I was given today.

I spotted one familiar name (who is supposed to be my lecturer) on the timetable, and went to search it.

ALAMAK! Look at the FATE! THIS LECTURER WAS ONCE MY LECTURER IN MY EX-DESIGN COURSE AH!

    *faint*

    Agitated
Stop associating swine fever with pigs!

It has NOTHING to do with those cute little pigs! I hate it when people have the misconception that swine fever=pigs/pork.

Do you have any idea how much loss the butchers had suffered just because of the misconception?

I don't know why I feel so agitated, but it just gets on my nerves everytime when people link them together.

    And for the last time,

PIGS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH SWINE FEVER!

    人哋話“同人不同命”。
    呢個說話其實講得好啱。

I came down with a major flu, fever and sore throat yesterday morning, and had to cancel all my meetings with my friends. Sincere apologies about that!
I know its unfortunate to fall sick with these "swine fever" symptoms, especially when humans are at risk now.

My school will be conducting checkups as we were told to bring along our thermometers on Tuesday. I just hope my fever will not act up again for fear that I will be sent under supervision should they find out I have the symptoms.

But please, I just hope its not swine fever I am getting. I just ate medicine and tested my temperature, and the fever's gone.

I think I am cursed in the Year 2009 for ill health, as I keep getting sick almost every week. Can you freaking believe that?!

P/S: Wanted to update about yesterday's outing with a human, but he did not want me to blog about it. Haha. Nevertheless, hope that you had enjoyed yourself and don't be so *disgusting* anymore, ok! =P Thank you very much for the froggy too. Its now seated in my room and shaking its head off. =) Appreciate it lots.
